About Us

“Called to Duty, Proud to Serve”

Number One Volunteer Fire Department

Hmmm… “Number One” you ask… no we are not bragging (well, maybe sometimes).

The Number One Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer department that serves the Number One Community in Sumner County, Tennessee between the cities of Gallatin and Hendersonville. The Number One Community has its name because during the 1800’s, it was the “number one” stage coach stop between Gallatin and Nashville, Tennessee.

Our fire district is the area surrounding and between Douglas Bend Road and Cages Bend Road that is not within the city limits of Gallatin or Hendersonville and bordering Old Hickory Lake to the south. Our coverage area also includes sections of Lower Station Camp Creek Road, Big Station Camp Boulevard, Saint Blaise Road, Shutes Lane and now a section of the Vietnam Veterans Boulevard extension (Hwy. 386).

Interested in volunteering with the Number One Volunteer Fire Department?

Our volunteers chose this “second profession” with a common goal in mind….

To help those in need.

That may sound a bit simple, but that’s what it’s all about.

Send us your contact information by clicking here or pay us a visit during one of our bi-monthly training sessions. We typically train on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at our fire hall at 1314 Douglas Bend Rd. We’ll be glad to show you the volunteering opportunities we can offer.
